These settings allow you to specify how you want EDSBack to operate
and how to control your modem, etc.
@X0F
Subcommands
@X0BH Help. @X03 Displays the file you are currently reading.
@X0BP Rotate page. @X03 Rotates the page to show more settings
that you can configure.
@X0BQ Quit. @X03 Quits back to the main configuration menu.
@X0B1 Modem dialstring. @X03Set this equal to the dialing string
that your modem uses. For example, if you have touch
tone support, your dialstring would be @X0CATDT@X03, if you have
pulse dialing your dialstring would be @X0CATDP@X03.
@X0B2 Number dialing prefix.@X03 Set this equal to a number or
set of numbers that you would like the modem dial before
it dials the number. For example, you could have it set
equal to @X0A9, @X03if you need the modem to dial 9 and pause
before the number is dialed. If this setting is not
needed, don't set it equal to anything. NOTE: You can
select whether or not EDSBack should dial this field when
setting up your dialing templates.
@X0B3 Number dialing suffix. @X03 Works the same way as the prefix
except this is dialed after the number is dialed. I
don't why anyone would want to or even be able to use
this, but it's here. NOTE: You can select whether or not
EDSBack should dial this field when setting up your
dialing templates.
@X0B4 Maximum # of redial attempts.@X03 Set this equal to the
maximum number of times that you want EDSBack to try to
dial the users number and connect. A setting of @X0C3@X03 should
be sufficient.
@X0B5 Maximum # of ticks to wait for connect.@X03 Set this equal
to the maximum number of ticks that you want EDSBack to
wait for the modem to connect. @X0A(18.2 ticks = 1 second)
@X0C(1092 ticks = 60 seconds)
@X0B6 Amount of time to adjust. @X03 Set this equal to the amount
of time in which you would like to adjust the users time
(in minutes). The adjusting method is configured in
Toggles.
@X0B7 Modem initialization string before callback.@X03 Set this
equal to the string that you would like to have sent to
the modem before the number is dialed. For example, if
you would like to make sure your modem dials the number
FAST then you could set this equal to @X0CATS11=50@X03. If you
do not wish do use this, don't set it equal to anything.
@X0B8 Maximum # of ticks to wait for hangup. @X03Set this equal to
the maximum # of ticks that you would like EDSBack to
wait for the hangup. @X0A(18.2 ticks = 1 second)@X03 A setting
of 182 (10 seconds) should allow plenty of time for the
modem to disconnect the user. NOTE: As soon as EDSBack
detects a carrier loss, it will exit the hangup loop and
go on to initializing the modem, dialing the number, etc.
@X0B 9 Long distance access string. @X03Set this equal to the
number you wish to have dialed before a long distance
number to access your long distance company. For
example, to access AT&T set this equal to @X0C102881@X03. If
you would like to just use 1+ dialing, set this equal to
@X0C1@X03. You can specify when to use this string in dialing
templates maintenance.
@X0B10 Minimum # of digits to dial. @X03Set this equal to the
minimum # of digits that you want to allow in a callback
number. For example, if you set this equal to @X0C10@X03, then
if a user enters the number @X0A812-34-987@X03 (just to screw up
your dialing) EDSBack will catch this and re-prompt the
user for the #.
@X0B11 Default Exp. Lvl. if no callback. @X03Set this equal to the
value that you would like to put in place of the user's
expired security level if the number that he/she enters
is not found in the allowed # calling file. (Or isn't
called back because of caller-id, timetables, etc.) A
setting of @X0C0@X03 will disable this setting and the user's
expired security level will not be touched.
@X0B12 Default days till expiration if no callback. @X03Set this
equal to the number of days to add to the attempted
verification date to put in place of the user's
expiration date. For example, if you set this equal to
@X0C30@X03, and the verification date is December 1, 1994, then
the date @X0A12-31-94@X03 will replace the user's expiration
date. A setting of @X0C0@X03 will disable this setting and the
user's expiration date will not be touched.
@X0B13 Default security level if no callback. @X03Set this equal
to the value that you would like to put in place of the
user's security level if the number that he/she enters
is not found in the allowed # calling file. (Or isn't
called back because of caller-id, timetables, etc.) A
setting of @X0C0 @X03will disable this setting and user's security
level will not be touched.
@X0B14 Maximum # of name input tries. @X03Set this equal to the
maximum # of times that you want EDSBack to allow the
user to type his/her name. A setting of @X0C3@X03 should be
sufficient.
@X0B15 Maximum # of password input tries. @X03Set this equal to the
maximum # of times that you want EDSBack to allow the
user to type his/her password. A setting of @X0C3@X03 should be
sufficient.
@X0B16 Maximum # of verification string input tries. @X03Set this
equal to the maximum # of times that you want EDSBack to
allow the user to type his/her verfication string.
(mother's maiden name) A setting of @X0C3 @X03should be
sufficient.
@X0B17 Maximum # of city input tries. @X03Set this equal to the
maximum # of times that you want EDSBack to allow the
user to type his/her city. A setting of @X0C3@X03 should be
sufficient.
@X0B18 Maximum # of hangup attempts. @X03Set this equal to the
maximum # of times that you want EDSBack to try to hang
the modem up. If a carrier is still detected after the
maximum # of hangup attempts has been reached, EDSBack
will issue the @X0ABYE @X03command and exit.
@X0B19 Time to delay after connection. @X03Set this equal to the
maximum # of ticks to delay after EDSBack has detected
a re-connection. This setting is somewhat outdates due
to the routines that EDSBack uses to detect a connection.
Unlike some call-back verifiers, EDSBack will keep
delaying until the negotiation process is over. You may
still wish to put a 1 second or 2 second delay after
connection. The option is here, and it's up to you
whether or not you need it.
@X0B20 Your BBS line's areacode. @X03Set this equal to the
areacode of your BBS number. This isn't very important.
All it does is establish a default for the user, when he
or she enters a number. If you do not wish EDSBack to
provide the caller with a default, don't set this equal
to anything.
@X0B21 Number of minutes to add on entry. @X03Set this equal to the
number of minutes that you would like to add to the
user's time upon entry of EDSBack. The reason you may
need this setting is that, due to their security level,
newusers may not have enough time to undergo the callback
verification. To compensate for this, EDSBack will add
the amount of minutes defined in this setting to the
user's time upon entry of EDSBack.
@X0B22 Daily download bytes to add. @X03Set this equal to the # of
bytes to add to the number of bytes the user has already
downloaded for the current day. ie., a setting of @X0F100000@X03
will let EDSBack tell PCBoard that the user has already
downloaded 100,000 bytes for the current day. (Thus
indicating that he/she can download 100,000 less bytes
than before verification. To let the user download more
bytes for the current day, use a negative number. ie,
a setting of @X0F-100000 @X03 will let EDSBack tell PCBoard that
the user can download 100,000 more bytes for the current
day.
@X0B23 Total download bytes to add. @X03Set this equal to the # of
bytes to add to number of total bytes the user has
already downloaded since his/her first logon date. ie.,
a setting of @X0F100000@X03 will let EDSBack tell PCBoard that
the user has already downloaded 100,000 bytes since
his/her first logon date. (Thus indicating that he/she
can download 100,000 less bytes than before verification.)
To let the user download more bytes, a setting of @X0F-100000
@X03will let EDSBack tell PCBoard that the user can download
100,000 more bytes.
@X0B24 Total files to add. @X03Set this equal to the # of files to
add to the number of total files the user has downloaded
since his/her first logon date. ie., a setting of @X0F10@X03
will let EDSBack tell PCBoard that the user has already
downloaded 10 files since his/her first logon date.
(Thus indicating that he/she can download 10 less files
than before verification.) To let the user download more
files, a setting of @X0F-10@X03 will let EDSback tell PCBoard
that the user can download 10 more files.
